We only gave Herb Chambers "1"s because we couldn't rate them "0". We went there to buy a Honda. They would not sell it at the price they have advertised. They have you come in to the dealer so they can switch you to a different car. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER.
I wanted a Civic DX. The sales person told me there were none in all of Massachusetts, even though I had quotes from other dealers on the DX. The sales person then said, wait a few minutes and you can talk to the manager. After waiting 15 minutes, the sales person said the manager was busy. So I walked out the door.
Recently i went to get an oil change and tire rotation the cost of the tires rotated was ridiculous. I did get it done and left there with possibly unbalanced tires. Checking over the receipt I wwas charged for items that were supposed to be covered from previous work, oh did I say requested on 3 different occasions to be fixed. STILL not right. I had to drive 50 miles a day for work and thought I was going to fly off the highway it bounced so badly. I went back for a diagnosis now I need a new tire. No one said that 3 days ... read more
Sales Rep. quoted me a price over the phone and then changed the price to a higher price when I walked in. Sales Rep. states there is no room for negotiation and the price that is listed is the price it has to sell at. Although he stated that there is no room for negotiation, after awhile talking to him he was able to lower the price on his end a couple hundred dollars but that was it. I am a disabled person and on a fixed income. I told this to the sales person and business manager. There was a car I was interested with and checked out the sticker price, I asked them how much a month would this cost me. It was a little more than what I wanted to pay, but I said to myself it would be ok. I get to the office and filled out the paperwork. Herb Chambers Honda lied to me. They said they had the car I wanted in stock. I when there and they said they had one coming in to them in four weeks. They tried to get me to take a lower model (LX) but wanted the same money they quoted for the EX. When I said I would wait they changed the price by $3,000. Buyer beware. Don't go to Herb Chambers. All they do is lie to get you to go there.
Routine Service for 60,000 miles left me with 4 tires all inflated improperly, one was put on backwards, and a leaking transmission. I went back and they told me that a seal was leaking and needed replacing for $350. I complained that the car was fine before the service and they needed to take responsibility for the repair. They clamied it was just a coincidence, and offered to do it for $100. After having the car looked at by a trusted mechanic it was diagnosed that the car's transmission fluid was never drained. Parts were supposed to come in a week but this has been over a month and have not heard back from them. Eventually had to call them and keep following up.
I visited the dealership because the one I usually dealt with didn't have the used model I was looking for. I was there for four hours! I don't know they were trying to wear me down or what. I didn't get a good feeling and called when I arrived home to cancel my order. I didn't even take the vehicle that night and was bullied as to why I didn't want the vehicle.
